Student's Life Skills Programme
Life skills are the abilities for adaptive & positive behaviour that enable the children to deal effectively with the demands & challenges of life. Imparting life skills education among students has become an imperative part of the curriculum in 21st-century schools.
At NLDHS, we conduct seminars, workshops, sessions, and competitions, activities & events which focus on important non-tangible skills that deal with cognitive, social & emotional competency.
These intangible skills help children to develop better coping and success strategies.
The events depicting important life skills like decision making, assertiveness (Investiture ceremony), empathy (MSR activities), effective communication (Speaker’s Day), mindfulness, creative thinking (Creative Arts), critical thinking (Nirmaan- Science exhibition) & interpersonal relationships (Induction Programmes) are organized.
Regular karate sessions are integrated with the School Time Table
We have comprehended the significance of martial arts as a method of self-defence and introduced Karate in N.L Dalmia. This art form equips the children, especially girls, with a tool to defend and themselves against and averting them, attacks, thus boosting their confidence and self-esteem. We have successfully completed 4 years of self-defence training for our students. To motivate them further, we had organized an exclusive karate camp under the guidance of HanshiVispy Kapadia 8th Dan Red Belt in the school campus.
B-FIT
B-Fit – a unique grass root development programme was organized at our school with a weeklong structured curriculum to inculcate sport as an integral and important part in the children’s holistic development. Believing that every child has a natural hidden talent, this programme was organized to explore and nurture their potential at the right age. A customized programme was made for every child based on their pre-fitness test encompassing an array of nationally and internationally experienced coaches, modern equipments and continuous evaluation through observations and assessments, the children enjoyed the training programme. It built self-esteem, developed confidence and increased fitness levels by channelizing energies in the right direction. The school aspires to create future sports champions with such endeavours.
Clubs and Committees
The various club activities of the School have created vibrancy in the aura of the School.
Harnessing the Power of students’ curiosity, these clubs have stirred enthusiasm and have paved the path to constructive learning. Apart from being contagious, these clubs have been linked concepts to local cases, current issues, news and events—especially those that impact students— thus becoming a progressive way to make the course more relatable and learner-centric.
Community Service
NLDHS believes in the ethos of giving back to the society and hence the Community Service project is especially designed to inculcate the value of ‘Being Human.’
Recently when the entire world was grappling under this Corona Virus threat, all our four houses Agni, Jal, Prithvi and Vayu left no stone unturned to extend their help to the society.
