ASISC T-20 National Tournament 2017
It was indeed a proud privilege and honour for N L Dalmia High School to host the ASISC National T-20 Cricket Tournament consecutively for the 2nd year.
Although we have been successfully hosting the AISM regionals T-20 Cricket Tournament since its initiation by the Association (ASISC), hosting the Nationals last year was an experience par-excellence. The Success of the event encouraged us to take it forward this year too.
In all, we had 9 participating teams from different regions which included Uttar Pradesh and Uttarkhand, Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry, North West Region, A.P and Telangana Region, Maharashtra, Bihar & Jharkhand, Karnataka, North India region, West Bengal and Seven states of North East India region.
The registration of these teams was done on 13thNov and their boarding and lodging arrangements were done at the Mumbai Hockey Association, located at a prime area in close proximity of the venue (Ovals, Churchgate). To ensure that the teams had a comfortable stay, we had also arranged internal travel to pick and drop the teams.
A call was taken to have the league matches rather than the knock out matches to provide better opportunity to the participating teams who had travelled long distances to play the Nationals. League matches were played and the winners of these league matches played 20 overs Semifinal match. The fixtures were drawn in the presence of team members and their respective coaches on 13th Nov 2017 as the league matches were scheduled from 14thNov 2017 at the Oval Ground, Churchgate. The venue was booked with the purpose of giving our students the exposure of an enthralling experience to play on this heritage ground where renowned cricketers have played which is why it is a ‘Cradle of Cricket’ in Mumbai. The finals were planned at the Sprawling Greens of Police Gymkhana, Marine Drive. The final match of ASISC National T-20 Cricket Tournament was held on 17th Nov 2017 between Bihar & Jharkhand region and Maharashtra Region.
